Poker hand nicknames have been around from about the time poker began. Hands like rockets, cowboys and fish hooks have been coined as some of the earliest known nicknames that still exist today. Other hands like Darth Vader, The Phil Hellmuth, American Airlines and Speed Limit are more recent. Many hands have clear documentation as to how and when they were derived, others simply spread via word of mouth and have become viral hits.
